opening at the Columbia Museum of Art
The
Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina is searching
for an Associate Curator of Decorative Arts to
oversee its collection of approximately 3000 pieces
of European, American, and Southern decorative
arts and furniture. A Masters degree is required
in art history or related field, with a a PhD preferred,
and have at least 5 years of relevant experience
in a museum setting. A secondary concentration
in American art or Modern and Contemporary art
desired. Should have experience in cultivating
donors and collectors, developing exhibitions,
and a demonstrated commitment to scholarship through
research and publication efforts. The successful
candidate must also possess strong verbal and written
communication ability, excellent organizational
skills, computer literacy, and the ability to work
